I have media reports about me playing pipa, which is not related to my PhD degree in Biological Sciences. Do these reports help with the GC application?

No, your accomplishments as a pipa player will not be relevant to your Green Card application, if you plan to apply based on your accomplishments in the field of biological sciences.
