I'm working in California. Is it true that it takes longer if the petition letter is sent to Nebraska?

If you will be working in California when we file your I-140, it will automatically be routed by USCIS to the Nebraska Service Center.  The NSC has historically taken longer to process I-140s than the TSC.  But, the average processing time for both service centers is about 4 months as of the last update from USCIS.  You can check for updates regarding the processing times at: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do
