Practising entities
Where a product includes lawyer review, the review and sign-off are performed by lawyers admitted in the jurisdiction where the document will be used; the practising entity for each matter is named in the engagement terms. The LegalMatrix brand is not itself a law practice.
Unauthorised practice
Where local rules restrict who may give legal advice, LegalMatrix describes its workflow-draft products as document preparation; any advice is given by the licensed reviewer within the engagement.
Patent and trademark practitioners
US patent matters are handled by a USPTO-registered patent practitioner; trademark and patent filings in other offices by registered practitioners or agents of record, as listed on the governance page. Renewals and annuities are paid through the agent of record.
Trusts
LegalMatrix prepares trust and holding-company documents with licensed trustees; it does not act as trustee and does not hold client assets.
Complaints
In writing to the reviewer; escalation to the group compliance lead within ten business days; regulators' contact details on request.
