Questions
Why do I need this if copyright is automatic?
Automatic protection belongs to the author. If a contractor wrote your code and never assigned it, the contractor owns it. The pack fixes that and proves the date.
Is the hashed deposit accepted by courts?
It is evidence of what existed on a date, which is what disputes usually turn on. The sworn statement adds weight where the jurisdiction uses one.
What about open-source code in the product?
The pack lists components and licences; a full compliance audit is quoted separately.
Can you do this for a product with 20 contributors?
Yes; assignments are quoted per additional person.
Does this cover trademarks?
No. Product names and logos are trademarks; see the trademark product.
