What is included and what is not

Included

  • Clause-by-clause redline against your position, prepared on the LegalMatrix workflow and revised by the reviewing lawyer
  • One-page risk summary: what to accept, what to push back on, what to walk away from, in plain language
  • A draft reply to the counterparty with the proposed changes, ready to send
  • Enforceability check for the jurisdiction the contract will be used in (governing law, dispute clause, signature formalities)
  • A 20-minute call with the reviewing lawyer to go through the summary
  • The reviewer's name and admission on the document; the review logged in your matter

Not included

  • Negotiating with the counterparty on your behalf (available as an option)
  • A full redraft of the contract (see the drafting products)
  • Tax, competition or regulatory clearance opinions
  • Documents over 25 pages or in a language other than English, Japanese or Chinese without a quote

Who it is for

For

  • Companies that receive customer, supplier, distributor, licensing or employment contracts from a stronger counterparty
  • Founders signing a term sheet, SaaS agreement or master services agreement for the first time in a new country
  • Finance and operations leads who sign ten to fifty contracts a year without in-house counsel

Not for

  • Litigation or a dispute that has already started
  • Consumer contracts for individuals (a lease, a car purchase)
  • A contract set that needs a full rebuild rather than a review

What a reviewed clause looks like

12. Governing law and disputes

12.1 This Agreement and any dispute arising out of or in connection with it are governed by the laws of the State of New York Singapore.

12.2 Any dispute shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New York referred to and finally resolved by arbitration administered by the Singapore International Arbitration Centre under its rules for the time being in force, seated in Singapore, before a sole arbitrator, in English.

12.3 Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking interim relief from any court of competent jurisdiction.

Reviewer (admitted, Singapore)Arbitration seated in Singapore gives enforceable awards in the counterparty's home market under the New York Convention; a New York court judgment would not be enforceable there without fresh proceedings.
Risk and deviationLow Deviation from the standard clause: none. Counterparty has accepted SIAC in two previous agreements.

How it runs

  1. Upload

Upload the contract and answer six questions about your position: what matters, what you can concede, any deadline. If the company is on GoGoTrust, its details are already filled in.

  2. Workflow redline

The LegalMatrix workflow marks every clause against the standard for the contract type and your answers, tags the deviations and drafts the summary.

  3. Lawyer review

A lawyer admitted in the jurisdiction reviews the redline, corrects it, decides what is worth fighting for and signs off.

  4. Delivery and call

You receive the redline, the summary and the reply draft in the matter, and book the 20-minute call.

  5. Record

The review, the final signed version and the key dates are stored in the matter; for GoGoTrust clients the obligations go into the company's calendar.

Questions

Is this the same as the AI contract review in Rocket Lawyer or a general AI tool?

No. The workflow does the first pass, the way those tools do. The difference is that a lawyer admitted in the jurisdiction checks every flag, decides what matters, signs the summary and is accountable for it. The price reflects that difference and nothing else.

What if the contract is in Japanese or Chinese?

Japanese and Chinese contracts are reviewed by lawyers in Japan and Taiwan respectively, at the price for that jurisdiction. Other languages are quoted with a certified translation.

Can you negotiate for me?

The reviewer can join one negotiation call or draft the next round of replies as an option on the product page. Full negotiation is quoted as a matter.

How fast is the 24-hour option?

Upload by 10:00 in the reviewer's time zone and the redline is back by 10:00 the next business day. It costs an extra US$250.

Do you keep my contract?

In your matter, encrypted, in the region you choose, for as long as you keep the account. It is never used to train models.

What if the contract is 60 pages?

Upload it; the quote appears before you pay. Long documents are priced in 25-page blocks.
